Unlike other trekking peaks, Lobuche East is slightly technical and tough to climb. The summit of Lobuche East peak lies at an elevation of 6119m and the path to the summit leads through ice slopes and rocky slabs. Even though the climb is challenging, it’s rewarding as well, as the summit offers a spectacular view of other 8000m peaks like Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and other peaks like Nuptse, Amadablam Pumori, etc. Lobuche is considered as a pre-expedition peak for Everest climbers as it offers better acclimatization. Any past mountaineering experience is an advantage for the climb of this peak.
We approach the mountain on a leisurely trek up the Khumbu Valley through Sherpa villages going up to Everest Base Camp, surrounded by the most spectacular peaks on Earth. We will be staying in the best available local lodges and with a few acclimatization days on the way enabling our bodies to adjust to the altitude in time for the climb itself.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATIONS:
PASSPORT AND VISA INFORMATION
Your passport needs to be valid for at least six (6) months after your journey ends, and should have a minimum of one (1) blank visa page for entry and exit stamps.
CASH & CREDIT CARDS
We recommend travelling with some cash, and at least two different major credit cards, such as Visa and Mastercard, so you have backup if your card is not accepted or lost. Access to ATM machines is available in Kathmandu but limited to none in rural areas. Contact your bank and credit card companies to let them know where and when you’ll be travelling, as well as confirm any foreign transaction fees.
When carrying cash, try to travel only with recently issued currency in smaller denominations; wrinkled or torn bills are not accepted. Only exchange currency at authorized outlets such as currency exchanges, ATMs or hotels and save receipts as they may be required for exit.
PHYSICAL CONDITION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Every mountain is another mountain regardless of its height. Climbers must be physically and mentally fit with a good deal of mountaineering experience and skills for your own safety and welfare of the team. Kaitu Expedition requires our clients to have basic knowledge of mountaineering skills and experience of expedition life. The clients should be confident and comfortable to adopt Himalayan mountaineering practices such as using fixed lines to ascend, descend and crevasse crossing using ladders.
BOOKING
Booking confirmation must be done 45 days before departure date from Kathmandu. A non-refundable 50% advance payment must be made after signing the Service Agreement between the two parties 30 days before the departure date.
